Mackintosh Candida chair
This piece of furniture was part of a series designed for the holiday home of the great manufacturer W. Bassett Lowke. The client proved to be difficult in his choices and the design of the table with the related chairs were not accepted. Roger Billcliffe, who finalized the catalog of Mackintosh's works, considered that the complex details and the meticulous illustrations give the artist's work an intrinsic value.
Despite the fact that Mackintosh did not have a very large contribution in terms of furniture pieces, it had a considerable influence in European design, especially in Austria and Germany.
