Leonardo sofa
Created in 1969 in a single prototype based on the design of Studio65 founders Franco and Nana Audrito for their home office in Turin, the project, a parody of the sectional sofas that were fashionable in living rooms in the 1960s, now joins of the Gufram catalog with the same original finish in stars and stripes, in a limited edition series of only 15 pieces.
In each of his configurations, Leonardo celebrates, deconstructs and exalts the American flag and its positive values, at the same time denouncing the flaws, the imperialist bent of the United States during the years of the Vietnam War and the beginning of the Nixon presidency in 1969.
As for the domestic area, it aims to emphasize the American values of independence and freedom, the peaceful revolutions represented by jazz and rock, the ease of Oner Road, of Kerouac, the fraternity shared by hippies.
The sofa can be rearranged as you like; devoid of joints and structural constraints, it is also a clear reference to Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, its modularity obtained by two concentric circles inside a square, marked by two perpendicular and two diagonal axes. More than a sofa, Leonardo is an internal sculpture rich in content, which preserves the soft connotation and tactile appearance conditioned by its special finish, unique in the world Guflac®.
