Bibendum armchair by Eileen Gray
With a tubular base in polished chrome and upholstered on the outside with different colored leather, Eileen Gray uses this armchair in many of her interiors. The design was influenced by the famous Michelin mascot, the tire manufacturer, remaining its trademark. Gray was alluding to Le Corbusier's piece, 'Grand Confort', joking that Bibendum is his feminist counterpart.
