Argyle Chair | Macintosh
This high-back chair was made by Scottish architect Rennie Mackintosh for Catherine Cranston's tea room in Glasgow around 1898-1899. Designing furniture for tearooms was Mackintosh's first major project. The chair was exhibited in 1900 during the eighth exhibition in Vienna. Mackintosh had an important contribution in the development of the community of Viennese artists.
